Most dog owners know to clean after their dogs on walks. But being a responsible dog owner means more than just picking up poo. It means that you are responsible for everything that your dog does outside. If your dog jumps on children scratching their faces in the process, that’s own you, not your dog. If your dog runs off to a group of people enjoying their picnic eating all the food in sight, it’s on you. And if your dog attacks another dog, it’s on you too, not your dog. These are all examples of dogs I’ve trained. And yes, dogs are animals and therefore they can be unpredictable and sometimes sh*t happens. I get that. But your job as a responsible owner is to prevent and manage your dog’s behaviors. Training and restricting your dog are an example of management. Here’s an opinion from your professional Dog Trainer in Inner Sydney.
